Project Wonderland

I'm still trying to track down why I get compilation errors trying to run Project Wonderland on my laptop.  I think I'm missing something from my library (tried installing Project DarkStar server and client, which didn't help).  Helped change BIOS passwords in room 3290 and helped clean and organize server room.

A preview of CKeditor Full

I just installed an editor for text boxes. You'll see it when you reply to comments, (write articles, create blog entries), etc. You can check it out by replying to this article. ;)

My introduction to Project Wonderland

Downloaded Wonderland source code to NetBeans and updated Java version on my laptop; am researching remaining error messages as I only get a black screen when I run the code. Roamed around Wonderland site to get a feel for it - learned how to navigate and Michael showed me the voice recorder, whiteboard, and portal. Helped reconfigure computers in room 3270 to accommodate removable drives; if drives are inserted, computer will boot up on removable drive, rather than on hard drive.

Saint Paul College in Wonderland

This is a virtual world running on the server we call Enterprise , named in honor of a famous ship which bears the same name. The video is a demo of Project Wonderland v. 0.5 Preview 2+, which is an experimental release used for development and testing.

Affect of ports

Here's an example of what happens when an app is running but the ports are blocked.

What you see on the left is the instance running on my Home computer. On the right is my session from the office (using LogMeIn.)

Clean URLs

Clean URLs are working, additionally, that seems to have fixed the double login issue as well. Please try logging in and report whether you have to log in twice.

Sony’s Second World Social MMO

PlayStation Home Continues to Evolve.

Sony Online Entertainment offers a free to access MMO to users of its PlayStation3 gaming console. Sony has sold 27 million PS3’s and about 10 million of those users currently use the free to access virtual world called Home. Using PS3 Home is a typical virtual world experience although the graphics are far superior to something like SecondLife.

Commercial Applications of Highly Creative 3D / CGI Animation.

What I have posted here is a commercial for United Airlines as well as the "making of video" for the commercial. The commercial is called Sea Orchestra. The agency that put this together was the BDM agency of Minneapolis and the company that did the post production work is Pixel Farm also in Minneapolis. While these were the commercial entities behind administering and selling the project the actual work was done by a creative collaborative called Shy the Sun which is a very small group of creatives based in Capetown South Africa.

Troubles running x11 apps on Wonderland 0.5

Ever since I started working on 0.5, I have been trying to get apps such as Firefox running within my world. However, I have been running into some unknown issues along the way. I add a new app under the "Manage Apps" tab, and then go into the world and try to insert it. Nothing comes up. I then go to the object editor, and see new objects for the windows that were supposed to show up. These are just labeled like "3(3)". My source was up to date, with a patch that kaplanj provided in my thread. More after the break.
