I went to Essex' MiRTLE site today, and had trouble making the avatar move - sometimes that shows up - but the locations drop-down menu worked fine. Then I tweaked the visual range, and when I finished that, a sound option area with a slider appeared. I adjusted the sound range upward, then downward, with very good effect.
