This has been a terrific last week on our project. We are pretty happy about the progress at least in so far as the creation and deployment of worlds is concerned. We have now successfully created and deployed 6 "worlds". We are getting better and better at this and plan to expand our work a bit. Some of this is listed below.
We have successfully designed and deployed the tutoring center for Harding High School. We need to review this with the instructors at the high school for applicability and function and put it into service as a tutoring center. Really looking forward to this opportunity.
Presented at the Campus Technology conference in Boston. What a cool adventure. Co-presented with Keith Rajecki from Sun Microsystems. He is an awesome fellow and a great dad. Very honored to work with him.
Presentation went very well and was well attended. Comments following were excellent and the "live" demos were particularly well received. We are now progressing the design of the artwork with the folks at the University. I met Andy Zbinden at Sun's Worldwide Education and Research Conference. Andy is a really solid guy with great vision. So nice to work with him.
We have assisted Zurich with the server install and are using the default artwork there. We are now working with Andy to create the artwork and deploy the model. Andy has been great to work with supplying all the photos, etc. for the artwork to be done efficiently and accurately.MnSCU hosted the Merlot conference this month. Our own Deb Proctor headed this up and the conference was a smash. She did an outstanding job and MnSCU is very proud of the work she did.
We hosted Jonathon Richter from Oregon and Kevin Roebuck from Sun. We had a great visit and St. Paul College was very fortunate to get a lecture and some recommendations from Jonathon. As always it was a real pleasure to be in the company of our friend from Sun Microsystems, Kevin Roebuck. What a great fellow and representative for his company. We all worked really hard late into the night and were pretty tired the next day but managed.
