Scene creation

Today's mission: test and explore scene creation for Wonderland using Maya. Smooth downloads, installation, and add-on installation are key. Many graphics will be added as needed for clarity, as usual.

Scenes are the thing!

Following some of the other commentary, I've been looking at 3D programming as it might relate to our project, but mostly delegating direct investigation and testing, as it's not part of the focus right now. Some of those things look good!

I am currently working on user documentation for various parts of the creation process, in and out of Wonderland. Priority now is on the makings of "scenes" for Wonderland. Look for that soon!

Meet... focus... go!

The team meeting yesterday was productive - focusing on this site, communication, and continuing development. It's exciting to see something come from inception, as this has, and it's definitely taking shape. The flow from one thing to another is following logical progression, and will happen faster as we go forward.

Ubuntu / Linux

The Linux installation user's guide is now complete. The PDF will soon become available. Processing the guide as a web document has begun. Ubuntu was the flavor of Linux used for this guide, but the structure should be very similar throughout. Linux has the advantage of offering X11 support, so no additional software was needed for application sharing.

Next up: Mac and Solaris!

Documentation

First form of documentation "done." Snag It is very clean-looking, will definitely use it often. Practicing with Camtasia 5 now. I'm looking at doing more with Camtasia for the how-to area, esp as minivids to show clicking and downloading.

Which other documentation needs reworking pronto? Is there an hierarchy of documentation tasks?
