Knowing basic tools and concepts before doing 3D design

Drawing Tools
You need to know 2D tools well before developing 3D objects in the tool Sketchup There are six basic drawing tools, they are...
1. Line, 2. Rectangle, 3. Polygon, 4. Arc, 5. Circle, and 6. Freehand

You can use everyone of the above icon to create 2D object and then it can be used for creating 3D objects Therefore, having yourself used to the tools to draw the shape and the size you want, it can speed up project designing time.
Before drawing line, you should make sure that you are at top view. It means, red and green making a plan, then blue line represent vertical (form a 3D). “Top” should be indicated at the top left. If you are not on Top view, then you need to choose Camera / Standard Views /Top. Also if you don't see the red and green drawing axes, you can choose View /Axes. It turns the axes on or off. It is important to know that when drawing shape with both line ends closed, it makes up a shape with face. Since visible line itself is a long strip shape too. So, if you want a circle with hollow inside, we need to draw double circle (one bigger, and one smaller reside inside the bigger one), and then delete the face we don't want. I feels it is very important to let us get used to that the length or distance looks different, longer or shorter, depends upon the angle at we see, but actually the length of object no changes. There are so many tools, options in the menu and sub menu and even further deep level options. If we take some time to analize and think how those option functions bing organized, it will help us to remember where is the options (under which menu) and speed up the design processing.
