Project Darkstar Roadmap Published!

Fri, 03/14/2008 - 07:25
Who wants to talk about where Project Darkstar is and/or should be headed? Some of us have been putting our heads together and thinking about what we could do to enable and stimulate active community dialog on the subject. Here are two ideas that we came up with: Publish a Project Darkstar Roadmap (wiki/doku.php/darkstarroadmap) provided by the core technology development team to summarize the work currently being done for the next Project Darkstar release, and a list of outstanding, high priority items on the team's to-do list. Take a look! Have some of the core technology developers publish blogs about what they're working on, so we can all get a better view into the team's everyday thinking. Check out Jim Waldo's blog (index.php?option=com_weblinks task=view catid=18 id=19) and Seth Proctor's blog (index.php?option=com_weblinks task=view catid=18 id=18) for a taste of what's on their minds! So, this is a start - what do you think? About publishing the roadmap, about what's coming next, about what's on the to-do list? What's important to you, and what's not? What's missing? Please provide your comments and feedback on the roadmap discussion thread started in the community forums. Let's talk!

Thank you! The Project Darkstar team at Sun was overwhelmed by the fantastic show of support by our community members at GDC last week. It was a pleasure connecting with all of you who made it. There is a lot of great stuff going on out there and we can all look forward to the many opportunities discussed. Let's continue to keep the communication channels open and vibrant. We appreciate your enthusiasm and support.
